Paloma handtas met rozen

Naast het testen van tassen voor Serial Bagmakers (zie hier de laatste tas, de Lisa), stond ik ook bij Shamballa Bags als tester aangemeld. Echter had ik nog nooit voor haar getest, tot zo'n drie weken geleden en ze mij specifiek vroeg haar nieuwste model te testen, want ze wilde mij als 'special guest of the month'. Wat een eer is dat!

Ondanks de krappe deadline (ik was nog steeds aan het voorbereiden voor de Ladies Night en moest het jurkje van Tika van Tita Tovenaar ook nog afmaken), wilde ik graag meedoen.


Ik had nog een rozen stofje liggen uit Amerika (zie hier mijn Los Angeles avontuur) en wilde daar graag wat mee maken. Ik koos ervoor om het te combineren met een zwarte vinyl. Vervolgens moest er een ritje naar Textielstad gepland, want ik had niet alle benodigde hardware in huis. En natuurlijk kwam ik thuis met iets meer dan alleen de benodigde hardware ;)

Na enkele andere voorbeelden te hebben bekeken koos ik ervoor om de flappen in de rozenstof te doen en de rest in vinyl. Wil je de voorbeelden van de andere testers zien? Ga dan naar de site van Shamballa Bags.

Het patroon werd duidelijk uitgelegd en redelijk vlotjes zat de tas dan ook in elkaar. Aangezien ik geen handpers heb, heb ik de zeilringen (grommets) er samen met m'n vader ingezet.

De tas gebruik ik ondertussen al als dagelijkse handtas, want ondanks dat ie niet zo groot oogt, is hij ruim genoeg voor een portemonnee (de Roxy), zonnebril, telefoon, sleutels, toilettasje en extra boodschappentasje.

Zo, dan kunnen we nu eens aan de zomercollectie beginnen, want de eerste stofjes heb ik gescoord op het stoffenspektakel afgelopen week!

Besides testing new bag patterns for Serial Bagmakers (her latest pattern is the Lisa), I was also added to the testteam of Shamballa Bags. Until now I hadn't tested for her, but approximately three weeks ago she asked me to test her newest pattern as she wanted me as one of her 'Special guests of the month'. What an honour!

Even though the deadline was quite tight (I was still prepping for Ladies Night and had to finish up the dress from Tika from Tita Tovenaar, all in the same week), I did wanted to test voor Sammy.

I still had a pink rose fabric in my fabric stash which I brought back from Los Angeles 3 years ago and I was eager to use it. I chose to combine it with a black vinyl. As I didn't had all the hardware needed I had to go to the fabric store and off course came back home with more than just the hardware ;)

After looking at some of the other tester bags I chose to use the pink fabric for the flaps en the rest of the bag in vinyl. If you want to see other examples of this bag, go to the website of Shamballa Bags.

The patterns was well written and the bag was done fairly quickly. As I don't own a handpress (yet), I put the grommets in with some help of my dad.

In the meanwhile I'm using the Paloma bag as my daily handbag. Because even though it doesn't look huge, it can fit quite a lot! I have my wallet (Roxy), sunglasses, phone, keys, toiletry bag and an extra shopping bag in it, with room to spare!

So finally I can begin on my summer collection, as I found some beautiful fabrics on a large fabric market last week.
