Neepa van A Quaint Stitch heeft onlangs een nieuwe tas gelanceerd, de Cassia handtas. Eind oktober informeerde ze of ik tijd en zin had om mee te testen. Aangezien mijn zwangerschapsverlof bijna zou starten wilde ik wel meedoen, maar dan wel aan het begin van de test periode. Dus als een van de eersten mocht ik aan de slag met dit model.
Toen ik een foto van Neepa's versie zag werd ik gelijk enthousiast. Zoveel verschillende compartimenten, een mooi silhouet en ook nog erg ruim! Het was even puzzelen om te weten welke patroondelen van welke stof geknipt moesten worden, maar door stap voor stap de handleiding te volgen kom je er wel uit.
Ik heb gekozen voor een donkerblauwe katoen met bloesemprint voor de buitenkant in combinatie met een grijze suedine. In de blauwe stof zat ook een okergeel stipje, dus voor de binnenkant koos ik een okergele katoen met een grijs/wit bloemetje.
Aan de achterzijde van de tas zit een ritsvak. En vanaf boven zijn er drie ritsen voor de grote compartimenten. In één van de zij-compartimenten heb ik gekozen voor enkele steekvakken, bijvoorbeeld voor een telefoon en een pen. In het grote middelste compartiment koos ik voor geplooide steekvakken en het ritsvakje. Dit ritsvakje werd afgewerkt met een 'facing', hiervoor gebruikte ik de suedine. De suedine werd ook gebruikt om alle steekvakken af te werken.
Aan de buitenzijde werden langs de middelste rits twee stroken suedine gestikt ter decoratie. De ritsen van de zij-compartimenten werden afgewerkt met zilveren rits-uiteindes en de handvatten zijn vastgezet met rivets. Veel details in deze tas, waardoor hij erg chique oogt.
Het tassenpatroon is te koop via Etsy, Payhip of via A Quaint Stitch. Het is wel een patroon voor de ervaren naaister, dus houd daar wel rekening mee. Mocht je hem aanschaffen en vragen hebben, stuur dan zeker een berichtje, ik help je graag verder!

Neepa from A Quaint Stitch recently released a new bag pattern, the Cassia Satchel. At the end of October she informed if I was interested in testing the new pattern. As my maternity leave almost started I thought I had some time to test. So as one of the first ones I was able to test her pattern.
When Neepa showed me a picture of her tester bag I got excited. So much compartments, a beautiful shape and very spacious! It took me a bit of time to figure out which pattern pieces needed to be cut from which fabric, but by following each step in the pattern you'll get there.
I choose a dark blue cotton with a blossom print for the exterior in combination with a grey suedine. In the blue fabric there is an ochreous dot, so I choose an ochreous cotton with a white/grey flower print for the lining.
At the back of the bag there is a zippered pocket. And from the top there are three zippers for the main compartments. I choose to add slip pockets to one of the side compartments, to hold a phone and pen. In the middle compartment I added the zippered pocket as well as the pleated slip pocket. The zippered pocket in this compartment is finished with a facing, for which I used suedine. To finish the slip pockets I also used the suedine fabric.
On the outside of the bag two strips of suedine are added alongside the zipper for decorative purposes. The zippers of the side compartments were finished with silver zipper ends and the handles are attached with rivets. A lot of details go into this bag creating a classy bag.
